A New View

Hello old and new friends. We have moved locations but are still in sunny Honolulu, Hawaii. With any move or change comes a lot of time, thought and sweat. I’m looking forward to this new now. To today and to future possibilities!

(And pssst! Here’s a card I made recently that has a homey theme. Enjoy.)

Thank you card with a home and family theme

Looking Back and Looking Forward

In mid 2013, I created Kelly Pang Design to cater to the design and visual branding needs of small businesses and, in many cases, businesses consisting of one individual here in the Aloha State. Over the last few years, I’ve had the opportunity to meet with and help them develop the look and feel of their business collateral, while taking into account our mutual need to balance work and family life too.

And now it’s 2016! I can sense the excitement in the social media posts of friends and relatives looking forward to all that this year will bring… And to this, I would like to extend well wishes to you in the hope that you and yours will have a safe and blessed year. Here we go!

How can design enhance your brand presence?

My husband and I went to Japan for our honeymoon, and during our stay we tried this dessert. It was a tiny tower, unassuming and unique, with a variety of fruits and a pastry crust. It looked nice, tasted good and, as we ate, we found a thin layer of chocolate on the inside of the crust, “Wow!”

It was an example of three things: good presentation, the right combination of flavors, and an element of surprise.

  1. Presentation: Designing your aesthetic to match your unique company is the beginning of creating a corporate identity that sets you apart from similar businesses. A cohesive identity, in the form of your logo, collateral, and website can differentiate and enhance your brand.
  2. The Right Combination of Flavors: Discussing your goals, expectations, time frame, and budget help to determine the scope and breadth of your project. By focusing on your goals, we can take steps to make the best use of your time and efforts.
  3. Pleasant Surprise: Adding or creating a positive experience can heighten intrigue in your company. If your company is new, it could make you memorable. If you are well established, it could strengthen the bond of a trusted friend.
